The Dorset Legal Awards Terms & Conditions of Entry

  • Participation in the Dorset Legal Awards is by the official online entry forms only.
  • The Dorset Legal Awards are open to any legal professional, law firm or person working for a law firm or barrister chambers within Dorset.
  • All sponsors and their staff directly associated with the Dorset Legal Awards are excluded from entering the Awards.
  • Attention should be paid to the entry criteria specific to each award.
  • You may enter multiple awards. Supporting statements and background materials may be required.
  • If you are nominating a person for an award or are the nominee, your contact details may be shared between the sponsors.
  • All entrants must agree to publicity in respect to their entry both before and after the Dorset Legal Awards Gala Dinner.
  • All Applicants are expected to provide a profile image for use in all of Dorset Legal Awards promotions and publicity.  This includes the use of the applicants’ profile image or images captured at any of the Dorset Legal Awards  This permission allows for the use of the applicants images in all forms of media.
  • Dorset Legal Awards does not reimburse any out of pocket expenses incurred by the entrants unless prior written approval has been received by the entrant from Dorset Legal Awards.
  • Finalists will be need to be available to attend the Dorset Legal Awards Gala Dinner on the date advertised on the Dorset Legal Awards website, when the winners will be announced.
  • Winners may be required to answer questions asked by the presenter and to make a maximum 60 second speech.
  • Dorset Legal Awards will require company information for all finalists which will be shown and used during the Awards Gala Dinner.
  • All finalists will need to co-operate fully with Dorset Legal Awards.
  • Only attendees of the Awards Ceremony can be considered for an Award.
  • The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence on their decision will be entered into.
  • Finalists and winners may state in advertising/promotional activity and on their stationery that they are a winner but this must include the category and the year in which the award was won.
  • Winners of a previous year may enter any subsequent Dorset Legal Awards.
  • All announced finalists will be entitled to £100 off a table booking. If they are finalists in more than one category, this sum will not be multiplied. In the instance of a partnership [meaning more than one finalist] this is still considered as one finalist and only one discount of £100 will be allocated. In the instance that a firm has more than one finalist they may only use a £100 discount per table.
  • Places are not secured until full payment for tickets has been received. Payment is due within 14 days of invoice date.
  • Cancellations of any places received up until one month before the event (1st February 2019) shall incur a 50% cancellation charge. Any places cancelled from the 2nd February 2019 will not be refunded.
  • Dorset Legal Awards reserves the right to disqualify any applicant, regardless of their status within the Dorset Legal Awards, at any time if the applicant acts in a manner deemed by the Dorset Legal Awards management as not befitting a Dorset Legal Awards. Dorset Legal Awards has sole discretion in the decision to disqualify an applicant and no correspondence will be entered into.  In the event of disqualification, the applicant is no longer permitted to use the Dorset Legal Awards branding in any way and suggestion of the applicant being associated with the Dorset Legal Awards in not permitted.
  • Dorset Legal Awards reserves the right to cancel any of the categories.
  • By registering and completing an entry for the awards you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  • Awards will not be presented posthumously
